I wrote a blog post a couple of years back on the definitions & main differences between Electrolysis & Laser Hair Removal, which you can find here for reference. https://www.revealbkelectrolysis.com/post/laser-vs-electrolysis
Reveal Bk now offers both methods, so this would be a good time to help steer you to the treatment that could be right for you.
Laser Hair Removal - Permanent hair reduction
Electrolysis Hair Removal - Permanent hair removal
Laser Hair Removal - A consultation is always recommended before starting either treatment, but generally, areas with hair that are both dense & dark would essentially make you a candidate, but this does not always mean the laser will prove effective.
Laser can reduce the density significantly, but can sometimes, depending on the area, have the opposite effect.
Laser Hair removal, when done on the face & neck, can lead to Paradoxical Hypertrichosis: An increase in hair growth due to the laser.
Laser hair removal doesn't work on blonde, grey, or red hair.
Blind Recommendations (areas that typically respond very well) - Legs, arms, Brazilian, underarms, male pattern growth.
Electrolysis Hair Removal - Electrolysis will work for all skin & hair types. This means all areas can be treated with electrolysis, but also can be combined with laser to maximize efficiency.
The legs are a perfect example; a very large area that can be time-consuming treated with electrolysis only. If proved to be a candidate for laser, you can reduce the density with laser hair removal first, & finish with electrolysis for the remaining hairs. Hair-free legs faster and forever!
Blind Recommendations - Any area on the face, & neck, chest, around the areola, fingers, toes, tummy, bikini line, blonde, grey, or red hair, peach fuzz.
As you can see, each method can work independently or together. The area, hair growth, hair type & your hair-free goals all play a part in determining your options.
If you are still undecided & would prefer direct professional help & answers, you can always schedule a consultation with us & we will take care of the rest!
